THE SALA THAI APP

A girl eating food
MY ROLE: UX DESIGNER, RESEARCHER

OVERVIEW

I created a mobile food ordering app to attract new customers and increase sales by allowing customers to order and have Sala Thai delivered when they otherwise would not be able to go in to the brick and mortar establishment.

RESEARCH: UNDERSTANDING THE USER

Brainstorming
We sought to understand what difficulties users encounter when they try to complete the core tasks of the Sala Thai App prototype. In order to achieve this we conducted an unmoderated usability study.  Participants were Oklahoma City residents within a 15-20 mile delivery/pickup radius and were between the ages of 18-60.

USER RESEARCH FINDINGS

"Navigation can be a pain point if it is is not clear, straightforward and intuitive"

Simone Woods

Payment must be laid out in a clear way that allows different streamlined payment options such as Paypal, Apple pay, Shop Pay etc.

Nicole Yang

Not knowing when a delivery will arrive is a pain point that gives the user anxiety. Providing a tracking map at the end of the transaction helps alleviate this.
